5 social media mistakes most leaders make

Big following, low trust? These common mistakes are often the reason.

A leader's social media page is now the first place many voters meet them. Yet many pages lose people's trust without the leader knowing it. Here are five mistakes we see again and again.

1. Posting only events

Photos of functions and felicitations every day tell people where you were, not what you did for them. Show the work: a road finished, a problem solved, a family helped.

2. One language for everyone

Every constituency speaks its own language. Your posts should too. Simple local words reach more homes than polished English.

3. Going silent after elections

Many pages go quiet between elections and wake up only when the next one comes. Voters notice. Regular, honest updates build trust that lasts.

4. Ignoring comments

A comment is a voter talking to you. An unanswered question or complaint in public looks worse than the complaint itself.

5. No plan for bad news

When a negative story spreads, the first few hours decide what people remember. Pages without a plan either stay silent or react in anger. Both hurt.

A good page is not about more posts. It is about the right post, at the right time, in the right voice.
